Opportunity to work on high-quality international commercial disputes in one of the world’s most beautiful locations. Major offshore law firm – British Virgin Islands
This multi-jurisdictional offshore law firm has a reputation for advising its client base on some of the largest and most complex commercial litigation in the market. The focus is typically cross-border disputes, global in nature although often with particularly strong links to the Chinese and wider Asian markets. Joining as a junior to mid-level Associate, you will work closely with senior colleagues, but you will also have plenty of scope for taking on responsibility. It is an ideal environment for someone who relishes the opportunity to get ‘hands on’ and who enjoys the client facing side of legal work.
You will be qualified in England & Wales (required for work permit reasons) and the role is likely to suit someone with up to four years’ relevant experience gained from a large UK/City or equivalent law firm, or in a prior role in the offshore sector.
British Virgin Islands
Life in Tortola, BVI, is about as far from a city existence as a lawyer can get whilst maintaining a top-level international legal practice. This is a place where you will be working alongside elite lawyers on huge, complex matters for clients all over the world, but walk out of the office door and you are in one of the most idyllic spots in the Caribbean. Ex-pats who love it here, love the sociable outdoor lifestyle, the climate and the sense of being in a remote location without compromising one iota on their career. It is a paradise for divers, sailors, and indeed for anyone who really wants to switch off completely when the working day is done.
Process
Interviews will take place by videoconference with start dates typically four to six months later. Our clients provide comprehensive assistance with visas and relocation, including temporary accommodation and car hire on arrival.
