Senior Associate level Commercial Litigation/Dispute Resolution lawyer – international offshore law firm – Guernsey
As part of its ongoing growth plan, this Global offshore law firm has an opening in its Guernsey Litigation/Dispute Resolution practice for a Senior level Associate. Joining one of the most respected teams on the island, you can expect to take a lead role in some high-value, complex and challenging work, spanning both mainstream commercial disputes and more specialist banking and financial services litigation. You will be working closely with Partners but will also have scope to build your own network of client contacts, and the support in building skills that are essential to your development as a senior lawyer.
The role is likely to suit an ambitious commercial litigator with at least 5 years’ relevant experience gained with a good UK law firm (or equivalent), or with another leading offshore practice. You can expect a competitive low-tax salary, a good bonus scheme, a relocation allowance, and all the usual benefits associated with any major law firm. You will also benefit from the firm’s progressive approach which encourages flexible working and sets out a transparent path to career progression.
The Channel Islands
For a city-based lawyer who thrives on big ticket work but craves an escape from the rat race, few places compete with the Channel Islands, home to two of the world’s premier offshore financial centres. Jersey and Guernsey have strong and highly competitive legal sectors, housing teams that number many alumni of the leading London or international outfits amongst their ranks. They do complex blue-chip work, in a nice environment without the trappings of a big law firm culture. Work-life balance tends to be good, leaving plenty of time to enjoy what is an enviable coastal lifestyle and London is only an hour away making it easy to get that city fix when (or if) you need it.
Process
Interviews will take place by videoconference with start dates typically three or four months later, depending on notice period. Our clients provide comprehensive assistance with licenses (where applicable) and relocation, including temporary accommodation on arrival.
