About the Role
The firm is seeking to hire a new Construction Partner to join an ever-growing Real Estate team which makes up a large chunk of the business in their York office.
You will work on a diverse number of sectors for the firm's existing client base including; Property Development, Infrastructure Projects, Energy, Oil & Gas, Aviation and Retail.
The Construction department deals with an exceptional quality of work. You will deal with both mainly contentious but also some aspect of non-contentious work making for a more interesting role. The department has a leading reputation nationally for the quality of work with many Partners being ranked as "Leaders in their field". The department works across a broad range of industry sectors but with a particular focus on property development, infrastructure and strategic land development.
The work will be broad and include Construction claims and disputes, Outsourcing, Procurement, Contracts, Planning, Regulatory and Strategic land.
You will be at the forefront of a growing department leading the team alongside the other Partners. This would be an ideal step up for a candidate in a top-heavy department seeking a route to Partnership.
You will work within a well-respected department, alongside a highly experienced team.
- You will be a Construction Lawyer with at least 8+ years PQE (there is no upper limit regarding the amount of experience)
- Experience of managing a team is to advantage, but not essential
- A portable client base of some degree isn't essential, but highly preferred
- Experience of construction claims, outsourcing, procurement, contracts, planning and strategic land is beneficial
- Excellent client care skills are essential
