Legal Counsel

A rare In-House opportunity has arisen with a leading Public Sector organisation based in Manchester.

This organisation is a household name and is looking for Legal Counsel with Commercial experience to join a small yet busy legal team. This role offers exposure to a varied commercial workload and an opportunity to be an integral part of the business.

About the Legal Counsel role:

As an integral part of the In-House team you will provide support on a wide variety of commercial issues. You will advise the business on a range of commercial and corporate matters.

Including:

*Reviewing and drafting a wide variety of commercial contracts.
*Delivering support for all legal and commercial matters including general contractual matters, marketing, internal and external communications and contractual dispute management
*Drafting, reviewing and negotiating relatively complex legal documentation and standard forms
*Liaising with external law firms as appropriate
*Engaging with internal stakeholders when delivering legal advice.
*Providing support on projects where needed.
*Ensuring that the appropriate frameworks are in place to manage risk appropriately
*Contributing towards the efficient and effective operation of the team
*Conduct legal research as required to provide guidance on contract compliance and legal / regulatory requirements

About the Legal Counsel

*Be UK qualified with circa 3 years PQE.
*Solid commercial background gained in a reputable law firm or In House organisation.
*Publc Sector Experience is desirable
*Have strong communication skills in order to manage a range of internal stakeholder relationships.
*Demonstrating the ability to develop commercial solutions.
