PR Manager (12 Month FTC) - World-Leading Law Firm
One of the world's leading law firms is looking for a confident, energetic and determined media relations specialist with strong business to business PR experience on a 12 month fixed term contract basis.
Working within a friendly team the PR Manager will play a key role advocating for this international law firm in the pursuit of its most critical strategic priorities and will play a crucial role in the firm's busy press office. The UK PR team handles media communications for all activity in London, both planned and reactive. You will frequently collaborate with international colleagues in providing support and counsel to the firm's global network of offices and, as such, will work with lawyers, business development professionals and PR colleagues around the world. The role holder will be responsible for raising the profile of certain areas of the firm, with a particular focus on the Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice and Tech Group and, in addition, will be the senior contact for the Global Corporate practice, encompassing M&A, Antitrust and Private Equity expertise. You will be expected to take a keen interest in the legal sector and broader business arena and will need a strong ability to translate the intellectual capital of the firm into compelling content for target media outlets. Having developed long-lasting relationships with target journalists, key responsibilities will include developing a public relations plans, advising spokespeople on strategic media handling, researching and writing press releases, briefings and media updates and working with the Head of PR to defend the reputation of the firm, helping with issues and crisis management as required. The successful applicant will also lead on supporting Diversity and Inclusion initiatives, alongside the wider people function, and will deputise for the team lead when necessary.
A bright graduate or equivalent, you will have proven experience of working in a busy public relations environment, either in a PR agency or in-house, focused on Corporate or B2B communications, ideally to include working with professional services clients. A successful track record of managing high impact PR programmes that support an organisation's strategic priorities and previous experience of issues and crisis handling and advising senior stakeholders on media engagement are prerequisite. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, good attention to detail and a strong ability to build relationships across an organisation are also essential. Motivated, proactive, forward-thinking, organised and diplomatic, the PR Manager will be a team player, with a passion and aptitude for media relations and a good understanding of social media in the B2B context.
