Global industrial company seeks a new lawyer for the Government Services division that operates across EMEA. Clients include the UK Government as well as several Middle East Goverments. Some international travel may be required as and when the ability to travel returns.
An experienced solicitor or barrister sought to work in the Legal team to offer dedicated legal support to the Government Services business unit within the UK and EMEA region.
The successful candidate will provide legal advice and support to the business unit at all levels and across a broad range of proposals and commercial contracts. The role requires strong technical ability and the willingness to work under pressure in a global company.
Previous experience of an in-house role is strongly preferable. This should include dealing with in-house sales teams and senior management, as well as external customers, on proposal documents, head contracts, subcontracts and joint ventures, with experience of PFI and PPPs useful.
Some experience of the US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and UK Bribery Act is also important, as the role involves supporting the business unit on anti-corruption compliance matters. Other legal areas of which experience would be useful for this role include IP and data protection; Modern Slavery Act; and public procurement regulations.
Ideally the candidate should have:
* experience in reviewing, drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements;
* familiarity with a broad range of corporate legal issues affecting the Government Services business including limits of liability, indemnities, warranties and intellectual property;
