Criminal Defence Solicitor – Home/Office Based

QED Legal are working with a well-regarded high-street practice in West and South Yorkshire who are looking for a Criminal Defence Solicitor to join their team to run the Crime department for the West Yorkshire offices.
The firm are experts in Criminal Defence work and have a good reputation in the region.
The right candidate will be a Solicitor with at last 3 years + PQE with excellent experience of defending matters in the Magistrates Court. You will be dealing with the full remit of summary and either way offences as well as indictable matters being sent to the Crown Court. Higher Rights of Audience is not a pre-requisite for the role.
Ideally the right candidate will be Duty Solicitor qualified, although again this is not a pre-requisite for the position.
The work is predominantly Legal Aid work, although the firm does deal with privately funded cases too.
The position is to be the face of the West Yorkshire arm of the business. The firm is extremely busy and this role is due to an increase in demand and growth, with the business in an extremely stable position, and not purely reliant on Legal Aid work.
There are support staff and assistants in the team, and the work is done almost completely cloud based and nearly paperless.
There is flexibility in the role too with the option to work remotely or come into the West Yorkshire office as and when you feel it is necessary.
There is a highly competitive salary on offer upwards of £40k depending on experience + the potential for profit share on own client matters, with the firm confident that in a few years you can be earning £60k plus in the role. The firm will also consider those looking at Director level.
