A York based Legal 500 Law Firm is looking for a Private Client Solicitor to join their team.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate a positive and commercial approach to their work with excellent competence in providing advice on Private Client matters. They will have a proven track record of meeting financial targets, display excellent client care and organisational skills, work well under pressure and be a strong team player.

You will be joining a busy private client department and your work will include:
  • Estate planning, to include Inheritance Tax and Capital Gains Tax advice and Inheritance tax planning
  • Drafting wills, trusts and ancillary documents
  • Administration of trusts
  • Non-contentious probate and administration matters
  • Nursing home fees and Care Act 2014 advice
  • Lasting Powers of Attorney/Enduring Powers of Attorney
  • Inheritance Act claims (but not litigation)
  • Possible inclusion of residential property-related work, but not transactional conveyancing
  • Possible preparation of income tax returns (personal, estate or trust returns)

The role will involve business development and marketing, representing both the department and the firm, so the ability and personality to make a success of this is key. Professional development is encouraged and supported within the team with progression for the right candidate.

Ideally the successful Private Client Solicitor will have circa 3-4 PQE though applicants outside of this will be considered.
