Junior Compliance Officer

A top tier city law firm is seeking a law graduate with a real interest in a long term career in legal compliance (conflicts and AML) to join their risk and compliance team.

The Role

The successful compliance officer can look forward to a varied and interesting role, conducting in-depth research into the firms existing and potential new clients, and analysing if accepting them as a client would pose any risk to the firm.  

You will be looking for potential conflicts of interest that would prohibit the firm from working on the matter, and also analysing if there is any risk of money-laundering, bribery or corruption.

The Requirements

You will have completed a law degree/GDL and have at least 6 months experience in a legal admin or a relevant compliance role. Any experience with conducting client due diligence (CDD), conflicts or AML would be an advantage. However the firm provide an excellent training programme and so if you have strong administration skills gained in a law firm and interested in compliance please do apply. Strong communication skills are essential as you will be liaising with partners, fee earners and secretaries on a daily basis.

The main thing the firm is looking for is a genuine interest in compliance, and someone who is seeking to build their career in this field.
