Family Solicitor Advocate or Barrister - A fantastic opportunity to join one of the dominant family law teams in Manchester and, indeed, throughout the North West has arisen. They are ideally looking for a Barrister or Solicitor Advocate to work with the more experienced counsel on the team. The successful candidate will have their own range of advocacy work as well as advisory matters. They will also be given the opportunity to deliver seminars and training to the wider family team.

Introduction to the family team

This is a department which advises on the full range of family matters including divorce, civil partnerships and all types of matrimonial dispute resolution including domestic violence. The team offers a full spectrum of mediation services as well as advisory services including financial settlements and prenuptial agreements. They also have a highly regarded specialism for child law.

In terms of their client base, they have a well-established network and presence in the North West, advising a range of clients including high net worth individuals in relation to high-value settlements. It is also worth noting that the team has a very strong tie-in with the wider private client group with whom it works very closely.

The Partners are recognised in the legal press and the department itself has a reputation for operating at the very cutting edge of this discipline.

Proven advocacy experience

The ideal candidate will be a Barrister or Solicitor Advocate with proven advocacy experience in matrimonial matters including FDAs, FDRs, FHDRAs, DRAs, interlocutory applications etc. The internal counsel will also give advisory guidance to solicitors within the team.

You should also be willing to be involved in in-house training whether that be presenting internal seminars to the team or internal updates on relevant case law developments.
