SALARY: Up to £55 per hour inside IR35
THE ROLE:
This busy local authority is looking an experienced and motivated Adult Social Care Lawyer to join the Legal Services team on a temporary basis whilst they undergo a particularly busy time. The role will deal primarily with Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards challenges and Mental Capacity Act decision-making but the successful candidate will also be required to assist in other areas of Adult Social Care including Ordinary Residence disputes, Care Act duties and Mental Health Act matters.
THE CANDIDATE:
The successful Adult Social Care Lawyer will oversee the whole process of each case from pre-proceedings through to completion of the final hearing. It’s fast-paced and hard work at times, but having such a significant influence mean you’ll play a huge role in ensuring successful outcomes for the adults concerned. Your contributions will help to ensure vulnerable adults are supported to live as independently as possible. Our client is looking for someone who can hit the ground running so experience in Adult Social Care law is essential. Local authority experience is not necessary. The appointed person be a practising solicitor, barrister or Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives, and have demonstrable post-qualification legal experience. Local Government experience is not essential but some experience of advising on the Mental Capacity Act is required for this post. Regular homeworking is available with this role but occasional office presence and attendance to hearings will be required.
