We have a fantastic opportunity for a Finance Manager to join one of our dynamic law firm clients on a permanent basis. This is a busy and varied role where the Finance Manager will manage the Revenue Controller and Finance Assistant and will report into the Finance Director.

Key responsibilities will include:

To supervise and manage the Revenue Controller and Finance Assistant in their respective roles and responsibilities - which include billing, credit control, cashiering and accounts payable - to ensure the team provides a timely, efficient and professional service to the wider firm.To ensure compliance with the Solicitors' Accounts Rules; maintain the breaches register and schedule of residual balances, assist with the annual SRA audit and suggest future improvements to ensure minimal breaches.To review all office and client bank account reconciliations on a monthly basis.To provide cover for the Revenue Controller on all areas of billing during periods of absence.To oversee conflict checks and ensure all are responded to in a timely manner.To prepare detailed cost schedules as and when required on the firm's more complex matters.To oversee the opening of new matters, ensuring all requests are responded to in a timely manner.To respond to general accounting queries and assist with adhoc project work as and when required by the Finance Director.To review and implement changes, as required, to ensure operational finance procedures continue to meet the changing needs of the businessTo assist the Finance Director with finance system upgrades as and when required and arrange / provide relevant training where necessary.

The ideal candidate for the Finance Manager role must have prior experience ideally from a law firm, as well as previous supervisory / management experience. Knowledge of the software Aderant or Elite is beneficial but not essential. You must be able to perform at high levels in a fast-paced environment, have excellent communication skills, be able to successfully adapt to changing priorities and work demands, and be able to use your time efficiently.
