TITLE: Commercial Litigation Solicitor
PQE: 0-2
TERM: Permanent
CONTRACT: Full Time (Mon-Fri 9am-5:30pm)
LOCATION: Birmingham
SALARY: £33,000-£45,000 DOE

My client is a top 50 law firm with offices throughout the United Kingdom. Achieved record rankings in Chambers UK, they pride themselves of the work they carry out for their clients and the culture they provide both externally and internally.
The Role
You will be supporting Partners and other case handlers within in the team with their caseloads of commercial litigation work. This is a chance for you to join a well established and highly experienced team handling a large variety of work at all levels with the teams’ fee earners and independently where appropriate.
Main duties and responsibilities
- Assist other case handlers with their caseloads involving more complex and higher value claims
- Manage own caseload as appropriate
- Draft and perform legal research, investigations, etc
- Attend conferences, court and client meetings
- Communicate with clients, counsel and other parties
- Involvement in business development and profile-raising initiatives as well as alignment to relevant segment/sector groups
- Complete client and internal MI procedures
- Achieve set financial and chargeable targets
- Ensure relevant deadlines, quality measures and KIPS are adhered to
- Comply with relevant policies and procedures
- Work in accordance with Weightmans’ values
The Ideal Candidate
- Qualified Solicitor (0-2 PQE however, higher PQE will be considered if right for the position as 0-2 is only a guideline)
- Litigation experience
- Knowledge of CPR procedures and have proven technical ability and record of achievement
- Knowledge of Lexcel procedure
- Ability to follow instructions
- Ability to work to deadlines and targets
- Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
- Flexible approach
- Excellent time management skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Agile working
