*Part-time* Legal Coordinator + Contracts Manager
My client is looking for a legal coordinator, ideally with some in-house experience in a fast-paced environment.
You will have experience in offering pragmatic advice, delivering straightforward solutions to a variety of legal challenges. The team member will coordinate and manage templates, legal advice and risks.
My client is global organisation established in 1883, dealing in the production of specialised products and solutions for heavy industry.
This team member will perform the critical tasks of supporting sales representative in reviewing and drafting complex clauses in their roles of preparing and negotiating commercial documents from the pre-proposal stage to executions, and throughout the life of projects.
They will provide assistance to the sales team and local management in giving pragmatic and commercially considered legal support and advice for a wide range of commercial [corporate and regulatory] legal matters arising across the business. As such you will support the team to ensure close engagement with stakeholders and that operational, legal and regulatory risks are identified and escalated as appropriate.
Effectiveness in this role requires full understanding of the Group policies, the business units/product owners' offerings as well as a strong working knowledge of contract law.
- Contracts review, advice, negotiation and escalation as above
- Provide training to the sales organisation on Group terms and conditions
- Responsible for Data Privacy compliance
- Maintain the legal register within the Integrated Management System
- Ensure that the company remains compliant with any changes in Corporate Law
- Provide legal advice on contract disputes, claims and collections issues
Bachelor's degree in law (or GDL/LPC) + minimum 5 years' experience in reviewing, drafting and negotiating terms of complex contracts.
Preferred experience is within an engineering or other technical/industrial company with international customers.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Strong negotiation and analytical skills, with business acumen to make sound decisions and recommendations to sales representatives and business management.
Salary is £45k (pro rated to 22 hours = c. £26k)
Pension - automatically begins at 4% EE, 5% ER but optional increase up to 7% EE, 10% ER
Holiday - 25 days annual leave, increasing by 1 day per 5 years of service. Option to buy/sell 5 days each year, and can carry over up to 5 days at the end of each year
Hours - 22 weekly on a flexible basis
