Job Title: Senior Legal Counsel - Part Time
Location: South Manchester
Salary: Up to £70k FTE
Working Pattern: Suitable candidates will do between 3-4 days. Full working from home currently but with some office presence required Post Covid, although working from home will be regular as well

Douglas Scott are working with an industry leading technology business based in South Manchester as they look to grow their in-house legal offering with the additional of a Senior Legal Counsel. As a senior member of the team, you'll report into the General Counsel and play a large part in the day to day operations of the team.

As the successful candidate, you'll be responsible for the following:

• Drafting, negotiating, and reviewing a wide range of commercial contract agreements (e.g. Supplier, B2B, IT/Technology, Marketing etc…)
• Leading and assisting on some significant legal projects affecting various areas of the business
• Input into strategic procedural and process improvements across the legal function to ensure continued success for the team
• Regulatory Horizon Scanning for matters that will affect the business and then implementation of policies and procedures to ensure compliance
• Providing training internal stakeholders in relation to commercial contracts, processes and policies
• Advising across wider legal matters affecting a small in-house team, whether that's managing external counsel or doing what can be done internally i.e. corporate, employment, property etc…

The ideal candidate will have/be:

• Minimum 5 PQE in a commercial practice area
• Candidates from both Private Practice and In-house backgrounds will be considered but ideally, you will have some experience/exposure to advising businesses in the technology sector
