Job Title: Legal Counsel
Location: South Manchester
Salary: Up to £50k
Working Pattern: Full working from home currently but with some office presence required Post Covid, although working from home will be regular as well
Douglas Scott are working with an industry leading technology business based in South Manchester as they look to grow their in-house legal offering with the addition of a Legal Counsel. You'll work closely with a small team on a variety of general commercial legal matters, working alongside numerous internal stakeholders to facilitate the business' operations.
As the successful candidate, you'll be responsible for the following:
• Drafting, negotiating, and reviewing a wide range of commercial contract agreements (e.g. Supplier, B2B, IT/Technology, Marketing etc…)
• Working closely with the sales and procurement teams on agreements with a range of public and private sector clients, from SME's to huge nationals.
• Assisting on some crucial business projects, working closely with the General Counsel and senior members of the business.
• Exposure to wider legal matters, such as corporate, compliance, data protection etc….
The ideal candidate will have/be:
• NQ solicitors upwards will be considered but ideally you'll have 3 years' worth of experience in a Commercial Contract setting which can have been in a Paralegal capacity
• Candidates from both Private Practice and In-house backgrounds will be considered but ideally, you will have some experience/exposure to advising businesses in the technology sector, although not crucial.
