An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Conveyancing Assistant to join a Legal 500 ranked national law firm to provide administrative support within a small team of Conveyancers in their Residential Property department in Hertford.
This is the perfect opportunity for a junior legal professional to develop themselves further within a fantastic team, particularly if you have a passion for the Residential Conveyancing sector.
The Role:
The successful candidate will be joining the firm as a Conveyancing Assistant primarily to provide administrative support to a Residential Conveyancer. Your duties will include but will not be limited to the following:
- Opening files and setting up paper files
- Providing cover for telephone and email diverts
- Photocopying, scanning and filing
- Seeing clients to take initial paperwork where required
- Speaking with site offices and developer’s solicitors when required
- Speaking with clients on the telephone
- Assisting with collating information for reports on report days
- Dealing with incoming post/emails and faxes
- Date stamping incoming post
- Printing incoming post/emails and faxes and finding files
- Preparing outgoing post
- Applying searches
- Retrieving and filing away archive files
- Maintaining the archive file spreadsheet
- Selecting closed files for audit and making a record
- Organising files ready for audit
- Preparing audit records for manager
Person Specifics:
- At least 1 years’ experience in the legal sector ideally in a similar position
- Experience within a Residential Conveyancing department is desirable
- Excellent organisation and administration skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Great attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure
- Educated to GCSE level
