We are delighted to be recruiting for a Legal Business Manager to join a London Borough Council. The Legal Business Manager will be joining the Council on an initial 3 month locum basis, with the view to extend beyond this initial period.

In this fantastic opportunity, the Legal Business Manager will be leading, co-ordinating and managing all business, administrative, information systems and financial aspects of the Law & Governance Division. Further responsibilities include:

  • Managing effective legal services provision to all client departments
  • Day-to-day management of the Legal Support Team and Information Officers
  • Acting as manager for the maintenance and implementation of Lexcel standards across the legal services division
  • Liaising with Human Resources to ensure the management of human resources activities
  • Financial responsibilities, such as financial performance reports and cheque remittance

Due to the nature of the role, it is essential that the Legal Business Manager has detailed knowledge of Legal Practice Management systems and processes. Previous experience of managing within a professional business and of managing and delivering projects is vital for this role. As is prior experience of the management of devolved or delegated budgets.

The Council are located conveniently nearby to public transport links, although due to COVID this is role is working from home to start off with, pending further guidance. The Practice Manager will also receive a competitive rate and benefit from flexible working arrangements.
