Contentious Construction Lawyer, Dorset

Fantastic new opportunity for an experienced contentious construction lawyer looking to work for a firm with a fresh approach. You'll join a progressive practice and this is a role with very clear progression opportunities.

The Firm

On offer is a really outstanding career development opportunity for an ambitious contentious construction lawyer to join a specialist construction practice. Progressive in approach and outlook, this growing firm will suit a proactive but grounded lawyer looking for genuine long term career progression. You will be working closely with the founding Director, dealing with a broad client base including regional contractors, specialist sub-contractors, renewable energy companies and developers as well as private clients.

One of the strengths of this firm is its location. If you are based in Dorset or looking to work in Dorset, but are not someone who wants to work from home, this could be the perfect solution; an opportunity to deal with fantastic quality work, but without the need to commute to a larger "city" location.

But it's not just about the work, it's also about the culture and this firm has at its heart a genuinely warm, friendly, teamworking ethos which means that its people enjoy going to work and enjoy each other's company - now that's not something you can say about every law firm!

The firm is based in modern open plan offices and is well placed to further grow and develop over the next few years.

The Work

You'll enjoy a broad range of work across both private and public sectors and a portfolio of work that includes some high profile instructions.

Our Client acts for both public-sector and private-sector clients, and are involved in projects ranging from the construction of housing and offices to major infrastructure works and large scale energy projects.

Work will include advising on a wide range of construction disputes including live proceedings in the TCC.

The firm are genuinely a paperless office and use the latest in case management and bundling software as well as already running trials using video conferencing apps.

You

You will have gained some good contentious construction experience ideally at a well-regarded national or regional firm and be keen to progress your career to the next level. The team tends to deal with a mix of contentious and non-contentious work but this role is for someone who specialises in contentious construction work.

The firm are open minded about flexible working, both in terms of reduced hours / days and the ability to work from home for some of the week.

You will be joining an exceptional team, headed up by genuinely friendly and dynamic lead lawyer, with good administrative and junior level support, an impressive client list, top quality work and the opportunity to further develop your career.

*Where a level of experience is indicated, this is a guideline only and represents the amount of time we would usually expect a candidate to accumulate the requisite level of experience. This does not preclude applications from candidates with more or less experience.
