A full-service law firm in Leeds is looking to hire a Commercial Litigation Solicitor for a full-time, permanent role that has been newly created to directly support a busy Partner. This firm has a strong reputation for its commercial litigation work; the department is headed up by an industry recognised Partner with a proven track record in well-regarded commercial firms in Yorkshire.

Your New Role

The firm acts for commercial business clients and on instructions from high-net-worth business owners and investors.

Towards the more junior end of that scale, the Commercial Litigator would need to embrace a lot of exposure and responsibility at an early stage of their career and would be expected to learn quickly. At the upper end of the spectrum the firm would want a Lawyer who is able to function without close supervision, and who is looking for a long-term opportunity in a mid-sized team with regional recognition in Legal 500 and Chambers.

Key areas of focus for the Commercial Litigation Solicitor will include:

  • Company law disputes
  • Commercial contract disputes
  • Shareholder disputes
  • Contentious probate disputes
  • Defamation
  • Disputes arising out of acquisitions and mergers
  • Debt collection
  • Property and real estate litigation
  • IP infringements
  • Construction litigation
  • Professional negligence

About You

The next recruit will ideally be a junior or NQ Solicitor who demonstrates:

  • Up to 3 years’ PQE.
  • Good quality commercial disputes experience.
  • A genuine enthusiasm for this practice area.
  • Exceptional client skills as they will, in time, be expected to maintain and develop existing client relationships.

Salary and Benefits

On offer for the Commercial Litigation Solicitor will be:

  • £30,000 - £37,000 per annum
  • 25 days’ annual leave
  • Enhanced pension
  • Death in Service
  • Income Protection
  • Private Healthcare

When normality resumes our client will be embracing flexible working, with a split of 2 days at home and 3 days in the office available. On that basis, they are keen to consider applicants outside the local area.
