Head of Legal & Compliance

A large International insurance company is looking to expand one of it’s businesses by opening a new office in the UK. Having recruited claims and actuarial teams, the central functions are now being hired to enable to them to operate independently of the larger group. As the first Head of Legal and Compliance you will support the business writing premiums in the medial malpractice space. You will manage junior compliance professionals as you join the company in a strategic position, helping to grow the team and business.

This is will be a challenging position as you balance day to day legal work such as contract review, licenses and overseeing product development. You will support the various territories with their own complexities, covering a large geographical area but you will have access to specialists in other parts of the company as required. You will provide training, implement new processes for sanctions and complaints, and work on brand and product launches.

We’re looking for someone senior who is prepared to roll up their sleeves. You will need some professional negligence experience, but also the broad skillset of a general counsel.  This is a nice place to work and you will be joining a tight knit group of passionate experts.
