Civil Litigation Claims Handler 12 Month FTC - Bristol/Remote Working

Your new role
Our client are currently recruiting for an experienced claims handler/litigator to join their Bristol based team, on a full time 12 month fixed term contract. Their team of Litigators act for clients in a broad range of contract, consumer, property and inheritance disputes and this role involves handling a caseload of predominantly small claims in relation to contract, consumer, professional negligence, inheritance and property dispute matters, with the potential to tackle a number of fast and multi-track claims dependent on experience. You will be taking initial instructions and providing clear and accurate legal advice. This will involve progressing claims pro-actively and in a timely manner in line with the terms of the client's legal expenses insurance policy. The team are currently working remotely however post-COVID you will be required to commute to their office in Bristol on an as needed basis, therefore it is likely that you will live within commuting distance. This is an important role for them and they are committed to completing a remote recruitment process and onboarding during the COVID-19 lockdown.

What you'll need to succeed
You will have experience of handling a caseload of consumer, contract, property and inheritance disputes and a good understanding of civil litigation with experience of managing small claim and fast track litigation. Experience of looking after Legal Expenses Insurance-funded claims would also be desirable but is not crucial. You will be eloquent and confident in client care. You will ideally have a law degree and/or be studying towards CILEx.
