Our client is one of the elite offshore law firms with a strong and established office in Hamilton, Bermuda. As one of the preeminent firms in the jurisdiction, they are at the heart of many of the highest profile and complex transactions involving the island. The firm's corporate practice advises clients across multiple sectors, including a large number of FTSE 100 and Fortune 500 companies on the full spectrum of corporate transactions and commercial law.
The firm is now seeking an experienced corporate lawyer to join it's team in Bermuda as Counsel. The role will entail advising clients in the technology sector, particularly companies relating to blockchain / cryptocurrencies, digital technology, e-commerce, and other areas of FinTech. Due to the strong growth of this sector around the world and particularly in the offshore jurisdictions, the firm expects this team to grow so there will be a clear path for the right candidate to progress their career beyond Counsel level.
The successful candidate will meet the following criteria:
- Qualified as a Solicitor or Attorney in the UK, Canada, Australia, or New Zealand;
- Have a minimum of 8 years' post-qualification experience at a well-known law firm;
- Have demonstrable expertise in one or more of the following areas: M&A transactions; Joint Venture arrangements; IPOs / other equity offerings; corporate restructuring; and
- Have had some previous exposure to FinTech clients.
