Leading US law firm sis looking to hire a new Global Funds Legal Coordinator to perform responsibilities in relation to the firm’s World Compass platform, as directed by the World Compass COO and the firm’s Fee-Earners  The ideal candidate is expected to have a good knowledge of the funds environment, be analytical, focused, hardworking and able to relate well to people and a challenging, varied workload.  This individual will be enthusiastic about the platform, with an active interest in further developing their knowledge and skills key to the role.  In terms of the World Compass platform, this provides investment and financial services firms with legal, regulatory and practical guidance on cross-border activities.  All content is reviewed by local counsel, typically quarterly, and updated where necessary, ensuring that World Compass subscribers have the latest guidance and information they need.  Main duties will include being asked to interpret complex legal content and distil / convert language to a more easily digestible format where necessary, conduct research relating to regulatory developments in the jurisdictions that World Compass covers and draft news alerts to subscribers, perform continuous review and watching brief of relevant legal and regulatory updates in foreign jurisdictions, review and update selling disclaimers (using disclaimers kept on World Compass) in fund offering documents, assist on and contribute to regulatory projects for the firm’s clients, using World Compass content and reaching out to World Compass counsel to obtain guidance as needed, analyse and harmonize World Compass content to the extent possible to ensure consistency in wording from country to country and identify where legal concepts are not described clearly and work with counsel to ensure clarity.  Key skills required will be having the ability to think critically and analytically in a pressured environment, superior editing, proofreading and research skills, creativity and adaptability within a varied environment, excellent communication skills, including ability to follow instructions and a commitment to practice and foster an atmosphere of teamwork and cooperation.  Applicants need to be degree educated, experience in financial services/investment management from either in-house or private practice is essential.  Salary to £45,000.
