LEGAL COUNSEL - PAYMENTS - CENTRAL LONDON

A globally recognised payments business is looking for a Commercial Legal Counsel with Payments experience to join their London based Legal team.

Responsibilities in this role will include:

*Drafting and negotiating a range of very high value, complex agreements (multi-year and multi-jurisdictional).
*Holding decision-making authority on legal, liability, risk, insurance, and legal compliance issues.
*Maintaining up-to-date knowledge in areas of law, including, IP, software licensing, international and domestic contract law, privacy, data protection, financial services, insurance, corporate, servicing, and vendor procurement.
*Providing legal guidance on more complex and unique situations and in diverse matters affecting day-to-day business operations by assisting, advising, investigating, researching, and resolving legal matters within corporate legal policies and working with the business to ensure personnel are aware of and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

This In-House Legal team is medium sized, with a collegiate working environment and a flexible working policy. The wider business is also known to invest in their staff in their long-term professional development and offers sideways business moves, in addition to intra-team promotions.

For this role it is essential that you are a minimum of 1PQE, and have general commercial experience, ideally from a fintech/payments, software or financial services background. Ideally you will have experience working in-house, although the client will consider candidates directly from private practice.
