Legal Counsel - International Mining Conglomerate (London)

Varied Corporate / Commercial role for a Junior to Mid-Level Lawyer. World famous mining company.

Our Client is a world famous company in the natural resources sector.

Description

In this role you will contribute to the success of the the organisation by being a core part of the team supporting across applicable jurisdictions in providing or overseeing the provision of legal advice on commercial matters affecting all areas of operations including:

• drafting and negotiating (or supervising external lawyers drafting) agreements to document a wide range of commercial transactions and relationships impacting all areas of businesses.
• identifying and creating awareness and understanding of, and communicating changes to, legal matters affecting all areas of businesses/operations.
• promoting consistency of approach to legal issues (through precedents and checklists).
• enhancing self-service by the business through technology enabled support where appropriate.
• driving education and training for business colleagues on key legal issues (requiring the preparation and delivery of appropriate training materials).
• participating in relevant safety activities and addressing issues as part of demonstrating safety leadership

Profile

The successful candidate is likely to be a UK or Common Law Qualified Lawyer with 2-4 years post qualification experience in practice areas such as

• commercial;
• corporate;
• IP; or
• finance.

They will also be likely to have practical knowledge gained through experience working for a corporate and preferably with experience of working in an in-house legal team (with experience of working in a multinational/listed business being a plus factor).
