Locum Childcare Lawyer

Locum Childcare Lawyer – West Midlands – 3 Months + – Full Time - Remote Working – £40-£50 per hour (Umbrella) 

Venn Group’s specialist legal team are currently working with an established Local Authority in the West Midlands area who are recruiting for a Locum Childcare Lawyer to join their department.

This is a full-time position, however candidates with part-time availability possessing relevant experience will also be considered.

This assignment is offered for an initial period of 3 months subject to possible extension and will be worked on a fully remote basis for the foreseeable future.

This opportunity is suitable for a Qualified Solicitor, Legal Executive or Barrister.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience working within Local Government.

Daily duties may include:

• Representing the council on Public Law Children Act matters

• Managing a busy and varied caseload of Childcare cases to include all pre-proceedings

• Advising at LPM and PLO meetings

• Performing own advocacy to include contested and final hearings

• Advising client departments on complex issues concerning Childcare law

Prior knowledge of Adult Social Care and Education matters would be advantageous for this role.

An hourly rate of up to £50 per hour (umbrella) is offered for this position.
