Junior Insurance Lawyer

If you know that your future doesn’t lay in private practice long-term and partnership doesn’t appeal, you may have considered a career in-house. Whilst traditionally junior lawyers have been advised to stay in private practice, many companies these days feel this is no longer required, and can offer training and development in-house, where you can learn much quicker. 

A broad in-house lawyer position is available to a qualified junior lawyer within an established and internationally expanding insurance underwriter. Working in a small team, and closely with the Head of Legal and senior lawyers, you will split your time between general commercial work (such as software contracts and GDPR), corporate advisory and governance, and insurance related matters arising from the claims and underwriting teams (such as looking at policy wordings). You will not be required to work on litigious claims, but litigators would also be able to transfer their experience quite easily into this team. 

We are looking for someone who is career focussed and ambitious. Whilst no insurance experience is necessary, you should have an interest in this complex industry and an appetite for learning about insurance law and related regulatory matters.
