Barrister/Solicitor-Advocate – major offshore law firm – British Virgin Islands
This highly respected offshore law firm advises an international client base on some of the largest commercial and financial services disputes in the BVI market. Joining the team at a relatively senior level, you will take a lead role in managing and executing work as well as playing an integral part in the training and development of more junior colleagues. Alongside this, you will also be supported in building your own network of client contacts alongside your contribution to the wider business development efforts of the team.
The successful applicant will need at least five years’ relevant experience from a reputable set of chambers or alternatively a commercial law firm in which you have gained significant advocacy experience. Prior experience of handling high-value cases is important and admission in England & Wales is essential for work-permit reasons.
British Virgin Islands
Life in Tortola, BVI, is about as far from a city existence as a lawyer can get whilst maintaining a top-level international legal practice. This is a place where you will be working alongside elite lawyers on huge, complex matters for clients all over the world, but walk out of the office door and you are in one of the most idyllic spots in the Caribbean. Ex-pats who love it here, love the sociable outdoor lifestyle, the climate and the sense of being in a remote location without compromising one iota on their career. It is a paradise for divers, sailors, and indeed for anyone who really wants to switch off completely when the working day is done.
Process
Interviews will take place by videoconference with start dates typically four to six months later. Our clients provide comprehensive assistance with visas and relocation, including temporary accommodation and car hire on arrival.
