Barrister/Solicitor-Advocate – high-value commercial/chancery litigation– British Virgin Islands
This role offers an experienced Barrister/Solicitor Advocate the opportunity to join a high-performing team advising on a wide range of complex cross-border commercial litigation. You will be taking a lead role on a range of high-value cross-border matters spanning areas such as mainstream contractual disputes, specialist banking and financial services litigation, insolvency, contentious fraud and asset tracing/freezing injunctions. You will also be encouraged to play an integral role in the firm’s ongoing client management and business development work.
This is an opportunity to work at an elite level in a collegiate environment alongside some of the most respected senior lawyers in the market. There will be every opportunity to take on leadership responsibilities, ideal for an ambitious lawyer who is keen to build their offshore skillset, and their network, more quickly than might be possible in the onshore sector.
You will need at least five years’ relevant experience from a good chambers or law firm, and you will have advocacy experience commensurate with your level. Admission in England & Wales is essential.
British Virgin Islands
Life in Tortola, BVI, is about as far from a city existence as a lawyer can get whilst maintaining a top-level international legal practice. This is a place where you will be working alongside elite lawyers on huge, complex matters for clients all over the world, but walk out of the office door and you are in one of the most idyllic spots in the Caribbean. Ex-pats who love it here, love the sociable outdoor lifestyle, the climate and the sense of being in a remote location without compromising one iota on their career. It is a paradise for divers, sailors, and indeed for anyone who really wants to switch off completely when the working day is done.
