In-House Commercial Legal Counsel Solicitor 3+ PQE (legal & compliance), Essex, £Excellent plus extensive benefits. Fast growing company with a portfolio of over 20 brands across 140+ markets, with an international reach, are looking for a talented commercial lawyer to join their growing legal team to support and advise on a wide range of legal issues affecting the business. You will be required to liaise with stakeholders located in the UK and offices around the world, to draft, negotiate and advise on multi-million-pound agreements with partners across the globe.

KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
A typical day as a lawyer may involve, for example, meeting with the regulatory team to provide support on a commercial agreement required for regulatory purposes, advising on trademarks, negotiating a supply agreement with one of the company’s many suppliers around the world, meeting with internal stakeholders to discuss a potential distribution agreement and preparing the draft agreement, reviewing powers of attorney and non-disclosure agreements, reviewing and negotiating service contracts and terms and conditions for third party services, such as IT software agreements. There are also opportunities to provide support on M&A transactions and to work on various business wide projects. You will report directly into the Head of Commercial Legal and will also work directly with the General Counsel and other members of the team. You will be required to negotiate, draft and support on a broad range of commercial contracts through to completion, including but not limited to:

commercial agreements governing the company’s relationships with distributors and suppliers in connection with the license, manufacture and distribution of products around the world
service agreements and third-party terms and conditions in connection with various services which the business wish to use
bespoke contracts and documentation required in order to comply with regulatory requirements
non-disclosure and confidentiality agreements to protect information

Providing legal advice, guidance and support to the wider business in relation to general enquiries, ad hoc legal issues and various business projects. Provide support to other team members and obtaining advice from other teams in the business in their area of expertise.

IN-HOUSE COMMERCIAL LEGAL COUNSEL SOLICITOR:
You will be a qualified solicitor in England and Wales, with preferably at least 3 years prior legal experience, of which must have been at a top tier law firm or in-house. A strong negotiator with excellent drafting and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and a strong commercial business acumen. A driven and forward-thinking individual that can work well in a team and is confident to provide advice to key stakeholders in the business and add strategic value. A self-motivated individual who enjoys working in a high energy and fast paced business and is willing to adapt to changes. An organised person who is able to prioritize and manage their own workloads with minimal supervision. Some travel may be required.
