Pensions lawyer NQ – 4 years’ PQE LONDON

Commercial law firm in central London is looking to recruit a Pensions lawyer of 0 to 4 years’ PQE. The team advises corporate groups, investors and trustees on all aspects of UK pensions law and practice, including: liability and risk in respect defined benefit schemes, funding, investment and regulation of pension schemes, auto-enrolment duties and pensions tax issues. The role will include: • Advising both corporate and trustee clients on the varied issues which arise on their pension schemes, including benefit issues and disputes, pensions governance, investment, funding, regulation, tax and auto-enrolment, including dealing with the Pensions Regulator on funding and other issues • Drafting formal scheme documentation to establish, amend or merge pension schemes and to address changes in employers, including flexible apportionment arrangements • Drafting employee communications, formal correspondence and preparing minutes and meeting packs • Advising on pensions aspects of pension de-risking transactions (buy-outs and buy-ins and longevity risk transactions) • Advising in relation to establishment and transactions with defined benefit consolidators • Working on the pensions aspects of corporate transactions (including public offers and public to private transactions) • Advising in relation to interventions by the Pensions Regulator, including transactions requiring regulatory approval or clearance.

If you are already qualified, you will currently specialise in Pensions law and if you are newly-qualified you will, ideally, have undertaken a seat in Pensions law.
