Claims Adjuster - Professional Indemnity - London

Claims Adjuster - Exciting opportunity to join growing professional indemnity team which is part of established commercial insurance practice area. Applicants should possess a strong defendant insurance background and have sufficient experience to handle a busy caseload of professional indemnity claims from first notification through to settlement. The role will involve going on secondment to key clients of the firm, so the hiring managers are looking for those with excellent communication skills and the ability to develop client relationships quickly.

  • Previous Experience: Ideal candidates will have experience in defendant professional indemnity from either a private practice or in-house background. This role involves working closely (including going on secondment with) key clients of the firm so excellent communication and the ability to work in a team is also needed.

This is the London office of an established national defendant firm with a great reputation in the market. The Professional Indemnity team undertakes a range of work defending claims brought against professionals such as solicitors, accountants and surveyors etc as well as other complex disputes. Whilst the team has a strong foothold, it is certainly still growing and continuing to develop and offers fantastic opportunities for progression and development.

The role in more detail

As this role involves working on secondment with key clients, the ideal candidate will certainly have to hit the ground running. Ideally, they will be able to handle matters from first notification through to settlement. They will also be responsible for:

  • Overseeing the strategy and direction of a given claim;
  • Highlighting instances where external advice (eg from the insurance company's legal panel) is required; and
  • Analysing coverage and policy issues.
