THE ROLE:
A thriving specialist law firm has an exceptional opportunity available for an ambitious Solicitor to join its growing Court of Protection team. As a highly valued member of the team, you will be tasked with handling your own caseload of Court of Protection matters, offering advice to patients and families of patients who lack capacity to make decisions on such as their general care, residence and medical treatment. Your workload will include providing advice concerning the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards framework and applications for Deputyship and Lasting Power of Attorney.
The appointed Court of Protection Solicitor will be working within a highly specialised team fully committed to being leaders in their field, alongside delivering a compassionate service to clients. The successful individual will be working under the supervision of long-serving and established senior solicitors, offering an unrivalled development opportunity.
THE CANDIDATE:
This role is well suited to a talented Court of Protection Solicitor with 3+ PQE, however consideration will also be given to those with a strong background in other areas of public law/Legal aid work seeking the opportunity to retrain. Candidates seeking to retrain should be able to demonstrate their specific interest in this area of law and their motivations to do so.
The ability to develop strong relationships with a broad range of clients, often under difficult circumstances, is a key skill for this role. You should possess sound judgement and the ability to act in the best interests of your vulnerable clients. Compassion and empathy are essential requirements.
