Associate General Counsel (EMEA): This is a brilliant opportunity to join this world-leading Motion Picture as the lead counsel for the EMEA operations. Responsible for the facility and equipment for some of the biggest and well-known film and TV productions!
The Company
This US motion picture equipment company has been at the forefront of Cinema for the last 70 years. With over 1000 employees across the world and headquartered in California, this company acts across multiple product lines that most modern filmmakers use. This company products model is exclusively rental of facilities and equipment as such there is a large amount of Commercial matters needed.
In London they have multiple offices, separating Finance, HR and Video/Audio departments. The company are looking for an Associate General Counsel for EMEA, to operate on their extensive UK, Netherlands, France, Germany, Spain and South Africa facilities to name a few.
The Role
Currently within the Legal Department, there is a General Counsel and Associate General Counsel based in the USA. Now there is a big requirement for the EMEA teams to access to a lawyer. This position will be hiring at Associate General Counsel reporting directly the General Counsel in the US.
As such there is a requirement for not only a strong Solicitor but an individual who can add strategic and negotiation nuance to the role. You will be based in their London office, but there is a degree of flexibility on offer with home working being on offer up to 3 days a week.
Requirements
- You will be a qualified Solicitor from a Top UK/US practice or In-house company with at least 7 years PQE experience
- Experience of Media cliental or the Media Industry (Although Media legal elements are not essential as the work will be a broad diet of Commercial matters
- Drafted and negotiated complex international master supply, vendor, joint venture, Cloud-SaaS, licensing, real estate leases, distributor, consulting, marketing, movie post-production services, camera and lighting equipment rental, NDAs, and other agreements
- Proficient in UK GDPR and/or European Data privacy regulations
- Ability to identify and modify Insurance matters to reduce risk
- Export control matters (preferable but not essential)
Language Skills - French Language skills would be useful to the role but not essential, candidates with no French language skills will be highly considered if they fit the requirements above.
