A fantastic firm in Manchester is looking for a Housing Litigation Solicitor or Fee Earner to join the team.

Since the Head of Housing Disrepair was placed by Douglas Scott within this firm in 2017, the housing disrepair and landlord & tenant offering has become a robust part of this firms offering, and as such there is scope to bring in an additional talented solicitor or fee earner to join the team. The firm in question is offering a fantastic benefits package, on site gym and parking, and highly competitive salaries.

The role of the Housing Legal Advisor Pre-litigation will demand an excellent understanding of Housing Disrepair claims, including where appropriate some personal injury.

The role holder must have an ability to manage a high workload whilst at the same time have a sound understanding of all aspects of pre-litigated cases and drafting pleadings.

The role holder will be responsible for taking individual responsibility for a caseload of pre-litigated Housing Disrepair files, to include where appropriate some personal injury.

The role of Housing Litigator will demand an excellent understanding of all aspects of housing and disrepair, associated legislation and the litigation process. The role holder must have both the ability and experience to manage a high workload whilst at the same time have a sound understanding of local authority processes in relation to landlord and tenant issues. They should also be experienced in being able to act on behalf of the tenant in tenant / landlord disputes.

The ideal candidate for this housing litigation position will have a solid understanding of local authority processes in relation to landlord and tenant issues and social housing, and you must have experience in acting on behalf of the tenant. Ideally, the most suitable candidate for the role will have at least 12 months of experience independently handling a high case load of both litigated and pre-litigated housing files.
