Property Damage Solicitor - Reinsurance / Coverage - This is a fantastic opportunity to work directly with one of the Senior Partners in the team who is a key player in the London re-insurance market. The successful candidate will assist the Partner on a broad range of complex, high-value matters including international insurance work and reinsurance coverage claims. Work can include complex property damage claims, multi-party disputes and cross jurisdiction as well as some regulatory work including areas such as corporate manslaughter.

Overview of role

• Job title: Solicitor (broad range of PQE considered).
• Location: London - candidates do not necessarily need to be based in London, but must be able to access London office when required
• Salary: to £80,000 (further headroom for right candidate)
• Reports to: Partner
• Previous Experience: Candidates most have a solid commercial insurance litigation background. Experience in re-insurance and coverage work is important. Any experience in international claims work would be beneficial including cross- jurisdiction work.

Flexible / hybrid working option

It should be stressed that candidates are not required to be based in London, although there will be a requirement to attend the London offices from time to time.

Level of work is second-to-none including complex, cross border work

The London team advises on all manner of high-value reinsurance and insurance coverage work including multi-million-pound property risks and property damage matters including international work involving other jurisdictions' legislation with extraterritorial application.

Other elements of role - regulatory work

The work also involves certain areas of regulatory work including high profile actions such as corporate manslaughter. As well as the litigious side of the role, the team provides training seminars and workshops to clients as well as to the Lloyd's market. Lawyers advise clients on policy wording and new insurance products.

Passionate re-insurance lawyers with an interest in complex litigation at the highest level

Ideally you will have a strong background in reinsurance work and other areas of commercial insurance work and complex subrogated recovery work. But the role goes further. As well as growing your own caseload, you will be assisting one of the leading lawyers in the market and a key Partner in the firm. In particular, you will be assisting with all aspects of the litigation process including in the Commercial Court, in London arbitrations as well as other disputes in other jurisdictions.

You will be involved in everything from considering issues of coverage, liability, quantum and strategy to drafting instructions to counsel, conducting investigations as well as legal research.
