Senior Property Lawyer- Leeds

The Role:

-Understand all aspects of its business, providing quality practical/ legal advice and support to the Technical Lawyers and the wider business on complex matters, liaising with internal and external parties (including client lenders, borrower's and external lawyers) as required
-Manage and inspire the Technical Lawyers with ongoing coaching, training and development, ensuring the workload is equitably distributed within the team to enable them to maximise their potential, managing the team effectively delivering difficult messages when required with clarity and sensitivity being persuasive where required
-Provide continued direction and support to the Technical Lawyers to ensure service is first-class and that legal and process support being provided in respect of any matters referred is being carried out accurately, efficiently and in line with business/client and regulatory requirements
-To assist its institutional lender clients where requested in developing new processes or products, communicating with them in a clear honest practical and enthusiastic way to enable them to build trust in your and its ability as a business to add value to any proposition
-To promote its business ethics and values promoting its brand and focusing on what matters to its clients
-Identify process and policy improvements, ensuring guidance is maintained and the Technical Lawyers are updated with any changes where appropriate

Requirements:

-Licensed Conveyancer/CILEX or qualified Solicitor with extensive knowledge and experience of dealing with technical legal property enquires across a wide range of client lenders, including but not limited to:- shared ownership, lease extensions, non- standard
-The ability to think strategically and creatively to see legal issues in their wider context and advise accordingly
-Ability to lead and develop a team
-Ability to challenge assumptions whilst being willing to compromise where appropriate
-Build strong interpersonal relationships with its clients and throughout its business
-Excellent commercial awareness with a strong practical approach to your workload
-Ability to meet tight deadlines and to work under pressure
-Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain complex issues in a way that is easy to understand
-Excellent organisational skills
-Excellent investigatory skills with the ability to quickly assimilate facts on relatively complex files
-Attention to detail
