Dispute Resolution Solicitor – 3-7 years PQE – Peterborough - £competitive

We’re looking for a Dispute Resolution Solicitor to develop and maintain a caseload of matters and undertake legal work as part of our team directed by the Head of Department. Your workload will reflect individual targets agreed with your supervising lawyer and compliment the objectives of the Department and the wider firm.

You should have sound technical knowledge, commercial awareness and the ability to develop strong working relationships with clients and colleagues.

 What will my responsibilities include?

You will be responsible for delivering on your individual targets and objectives with minimum supervision. This will involve undertaking and delegating work in a commercially effective manner which reflects the values and ethos of the firm. Equally, your performance in the role should help to maintain our high levels of client satisfaction and build positive working relationships with clients.

Experience in some or all of the following would be an advantage: commercial contract disputes, property litigation, shareholder & director disputes, and partnership disputes.

You will have personal responsibility for time capture, provision of costs information and fee recovery for any work you undertake.

This role will require you to adhere to agreed quality procedures and management systems. You will also be encouraged to proactively share good practice and ideas with management.

You will be given opportunities to develop technical and non-technical skills to meet the needs of both your clients and the firm requirements whilst demonstrating continuous improvement in all areas of work.

Some travel required for business development, meetings and training purposes may be required.

 What qualifications, skills and attributes should I have?

You must hold a relevant professional qualification or have relevant industry experience and you will need to demonstrate strong legal skills in the wide spectrum of dispute resolution.

You must have excellent verbal and written communication skills to compliment your advocacy skills and operate with confidence at Court, together with good file and time management skills.

You should have a working knowledge of case management systems and Microsoft Office applications, as well as competent document production skills to support self-generated documentation.

You will have excellent interpersonal and team skills. You will be expected to use initiative to plan and organise your own time and workload to help prioritise work and meet deadlines.

You will need to display a measured and rational approach to problem solving, dealing confidently and diplomatically with clients and other stakeholders, and demonstrating integrity at all times.
