Property Damage Solicitor / Litigation Executive - Bolton

Property Damage Solicitor / Solicitor - A fantastic opportunity has arisen to assist two Partners on a range of complex property damage matters for key clients of this leading national firm. Property damage is an area of complex subrogated loss. Claims involve everything from escapes and contamination as a result of chemical spills to water damage and fire damage resulting from explosions or other disasters. Cases often result in multi-million-pound claims and can involve numerous parties.

Role and responsibilities

  • Previous Experience: Robust litigators wanted. Candidates with a commercial insurance background or commercial litigation background are strongly encouraged to apply. This role would also suit applicants with litigation experience in other areas such as debt recovery.

A dynamic and growing team with a national presence

The nature and size of these claims means that fee earners often collaborate across the firm's national network. This is a relatively new team who have already established a strong position in the market advising on highly-complex property damage matters. Recent matters included a large agrochemical claim and a multi-million-pound construction related dispute involving a number of contractors and subcontractors. This is an exciting area of commercial insurance litigation and you will be at the heart of a busy department at the cutting edge of this area of complex subrogation.

The team also advise on the intricacies of insurance policy coverage and often advise insurers when bringing new product to market. They also provide ongoing training to clients through regular seminars and updates to stay at the forefront of key developments in the law.

Property damage / commercial insurance litigation and other relevant experience

A strong background in property damage would obviously be a major advantage, but the team also encourage applications from candidates from other disciplines such as professional indemnity, commercial litigation and debt recovery.

The key is that they are looking for robust litigators with a real passion for complex work and a real interest in the intricacies of the law. If you are a gifted lawyer with a strong dispute resolution skillset, this may be the role for you.
