Lead Counsel | Contract | Fully Remote Working
My client, a market leader in the energy sector is seeking a Lead Counsel on a contract basis until the end of January 2022
The role will be Reporting into the Director of Legal, Regulation and Corporate Affairs. The Lead Counsel will be primarily responsible and, be the main legal contact, for providing legal expertise and support to both the wholesale and retail arms of the business.
Responsibilities include:
*Advising and/or supervising advice on a wide variety of legal issues, including consumer T's and C's, consumer law, supplier contracts, new project and product offerings, outsourcing agreements, variation agreements etc.
*Key role in advising on all Mergers and Acquisitions and providing key legal support to the Director of Legal, Regulation and Corporate Affairs.
*Providing specialist legal advice to the organisation on issues such as Data Protection, Competition Law, Health & Safety etc
*Providing expert legal support in respect of business-critical projects.
*Assisting the Director of Legal, Regulation and Corporate Affairs with driving improvements in the legal service provided to the business.
The successful candidate:
The role will have responsibility for managing a team of two lawyers and a paralegal, therefore you will need to be a qualified solicitor with a minimum of 6-7 years PQE*. Comprehensive experience in commercial contracts, company secretarial, general commercial law and energy law will be essential for this role.
This is a fully remote position and due to the urgency of this role you will need to be available from the start of August.
