Your new role
An in-house lawyer position reporting into the Director of Legal and Governance. You will provide legal support in connection with the direct investments strategy of the Bank's commercial arm, as well as covering all portfolio matters that arise during the life of the Bank's investments. The core role is facilitating the execution of investment transactions, from early engagement with business teams in the due due diligence phase through to completion role will support the activities of the wider Legal and Governance team and you will be required to manage external counsel and legal fees. For your information, the role will start working from home and move to the London office when restrictions are lifted. Some national travel may be required from time to time based on business needs.

What you'll need to succeed
You will be a qualified Lawyer or Barrister in England and Wales with at least 3 to 5 years' post qualification experience, however, candidates with greater or fewer years' PQE will be considered. Ideally, you'll have a background in private practice, or in-house, with a desire to use your legal know-how in a different setting. You will have proven experience advising on a range of M&As, corporate transactions, and direct investments, including drafting and reviewing shareholder agreements, subscription agreements, articles of association, join ventures and ancillary documents. Strong execution skills, including transaction management and negotiation skills are essential for this role.
