Commercial/Data Protection Solicitor - In House

THE ROLE

This is an exciting new in-house role for a Commercial Solicitor to make a career move to a newly formed corporate organisation

As an in-house Solicitor, you will assist the Head of Legal to develop the legal capability of the business, advising on a variety of legal processes and systems.

You will be providing legal services to all areas of the business with a particular focus on data protection, compliance, and commercial contracts.

As a key team member, you will be responsible for advising the business on data protection relating to privacy and marketing issues and risks, drafting and reviewing commercial contracts, providing training to staff, working with the Data Protection Officer, and liaising with external counsel when required .

ABOUT YOU

A commercially minded lawyer 5pqe+ or equivalent, with private practice or in house experience, you will have excellent knowledge of data protection laws, ICO guidance and relevant codes of practice, including running and/or implementing compliance programmes.

You will have experience drafting, negotiating and advising on a variety of commercial and IT contracts

Able to work independently, you will have outstanding professional judgement within the data protection and commercial context.

Candidates with experience of working with international stakeholders would be of particular interest
