Democratic Services Officer

Democratic Services Officer- South East London- Initial 6 months – Full time/ Part time options

Venn Group’s specialist public sector legal team are currently working with a highly successful, busy Local Authority based in the South East who are recruiting for an experienced democratic services officer to join their outstanding team.

This is a full-time assignment (35 hours per week) however part time work for a minimum of 3 days will be considered. Initially this position will be for 6 months with a potential to extend.

This role is to be worked on a fully remote basis once onsite induction and equipment has been picked up on the first day, with no changes expected to this. You will also have to be flexible to attend the office meetings once every 6 weeks when necessary.

This is a brilliant opportunity for an experienced democratic services officer to become part of a successful local authority and undertake the following:

• Providing secretarial support to meetings including taking concise minutes, attending virtual pre-meetings, running the agenda of meetings and collating reports.
• Providing support in the organisation of events, and training.

The successful applicant will have a hard-working manner and enthusiastic attitude as well as great technical skills.

Prior local government and democratic services experience is ideally required, rates dependent on experience.
