Role - Senior Counsel:

SWM / Scapa seeks to recruit a commercial solicitor to be based at the former Scapa head office in Ashton-under-Lyne, Greater Manchester.

Working as part of a global legal team, and reporting into the SWM Legal Director (EMEA & Africa) based in Luxembourg, the Senior Counsel will be responsible for a role that has general commercial law at its heart.

Specific duties and responsibilities are likely to include: commercial advice, sales and procurement contracts, dispute and litigation management, including strategy with external counsel, day to day queries, supporting on IP and corporate matters, plus ad hoc projects and commercial advice. You will primarily focus on the Scapa Industrials business and other SWM UK assets; however you will also have the opportunity to get involved in Rest of World matters, working alongside international colleagues.


Requirements:

The hiring managers are looking for a solid commercial contracts solicitor who can work autonomously as well as collaboratively, asking questions if/when required. In-house experience is advantageous but not essential. Similarly, French language skills are also of benefit but not a prerequisite.


Package:

A competitive basic salary, £6k car allowance, 20% bonus, BUPA Private Medical Insurance, 3x Death in Service, Group Income Protection, matched pension contribution (up to 7%) and 25 days holiday (with the option to purchase an additional 5 days leave).

Flexible / hybrid working is available and it is anticipated you will work 3 days in the office and 2 from home.
