Funds Associate/Senior Associate - 4PQE+

Pure Search are instructed on an exciting opportunity in the Private Equity Funds team at a leading US law firm based in the City.

The Firm:

Our client is a US headquartered law firm who have a genuinely global presence, including a long-established London office. The team have made a major partner hire in the past 3 years resulting in the influx of a large pipeline of work. This is coupled with the fact that Private Equity Funds is a key growth area for the firm.

The Private Equity Funds team are a relative newbie to the London market, despite the firm's elite presence. As a result, this represents a unique opportunity to join an emerging team with significant financial investment and clout to grow over the next 3-5 years. Joining at 4PQE+, you will see no ceiling to progression, with a clear unobstructed path towards partnership.

The Role:

You will typically advise fund sponsors on all aspects of private equity and venture capital funds on a global scale, advising sponsors ranging from emerging managers raising £7-8m through to institutional managers raising over £4bn.

Responsibilities include:

• Fund structuring and co-investment vehicles;
• Drafting and negotiating fund documents and side letters with investors;
• Drafting service provider agreements, including placement agents and auditors;
• Advising in respect of local and global distribution requirements;
• Advising on spin-outs from existing managers.

Despite being a US law firm, our client has already set out their post-COVID working policy and are heavily invested in giving people plenty of flexibility away from the office and this is a key part of the firm's culture moving forward.

About You:

You will be a qualified solicitor with at least 4-years post-qualification experience of private equity funds, gained at a leading Top 20, international or US law firm. You will be at the stage in your career where you are looking to play a greater role in management, both in terms of the commercial growth of the team and management of individuals within the team.

You will be someone that thrives on a challenge and is looking for an enterprising opportunity to build out a practice, with significant financial backing and support to build your own practice through business development and client training.
