Pro Bono Solicitor (Part Time)
We are working with an organisation who are looking to recruit a UK qualified solicitor to join their pro-bono team for a period of 9 months on a part-time basis.
Client Details
A national organisation.
Description
This is a rare opportunity for a solicitor to join a national team of Pro-Bono Solicitors.
The role would involve two primary aspects:
- working with law students to help develop them in relation to practical aspects of being a lawyer including advising clients and drafting letters
- organising, running and attending legal clinics to advise members of the public on a pro-bono basis
This would be a great move for a frustrated solicitor who is looking to move away from a commercial practice and chargeable hours and time recording.
The role is challenging but extremely rewarding - you will be working closely with students to help develop them as well as providing advice to those in need.
You will need to have good organisation skills.
Our client is looking to recruit somebody to start in either September or October and it will be on a part-time basis. This is a 9 month fixed term contract so you will need to be immediately available
Profile
You must be a qualified solicitor in the UK - this is essential for the work carried out and supervisory aspects of the role.
The organisation are open minded to your legal speciality - private areas of law tend to marry best with the typical clients but this is not set in stone. Solicitors have joined from commercial, employment, litigation and housing backgrounds.
Job Offer
Flexible working, part-time hours and competitive remuneration.
