A leading commercial law firm with offices across the Northwest is seeking an experienced Employment Paralegal to join the Stockport office for a full-time, permanent role.
The Role
You will be assisting a senior fee earner within the employment team with a caseload of employment tribunal matters from onset to completion. Key duties of the Employment Paralegal include:
- Conducting legal research.
- Liaising with clients and keeping them up to date on the progress of their case.
- Supporting fee earners on their drafting of legal documents, such as Tribunal forms, schedules of loss, taking instructions from clients, handling settlement discussions.
- Attending Tribunal where required to provide assistance and take notes.
- Typing up attendance notes.
- Managing filing in both the paper and electronic file which may include file opening, closing, storage and retrieval of client files.
- Attendance and participation at group meetings.
- Dealing with IT and telephone matters.
The Ideal Candidate
Applications are invited from Paralegals who demonstrate the below:
- 2-3 years’ experience working as a Paralegal within an employment team.
- Knowledge of employment law and commercial awareness.
- Experience dealing with the Employment Tribunal System and Employment Tribunal Rules of Procedure.
- The ability to work well under pressure and prioritise deadlines.
- An excellent telephone manner and effective communicator both face to face and in writing.
Salary and Benefits
On offer for the Employment Paralegal is a salary in the region of £22,000 - £24,000 per annum, dependent on experience, together with an excellent benefits package.
