A fantastic opportunity to join a well know business in a broad Data Privacy Specialist role. The company is consumer facing, manufacturer and retailer of high value, luxury consumer goods.

Client Details

This Data Privacy Specialist role is based in Reading and supports the UK companies of a very well recognised manufacturer / retailer. The role sits as part of the legal team, covering data protection compliance under the Senior Legal Counsel. The company offers a friendly, team focused working environment and requires 3 days of office working per week.

Description

This Data Privacy Specialist role is based in Reading and involves:

· To provide advice and support to the UK Group companies on the topic of data privacy;

· To coordinate the planning and implementation of the data privacy compliance strategy across the UK Group companies;

· To support the Data Protection Officer/Data Protection Topic Owner in the delivery of their regulatory duties;

· To analyse and improve business processes and controls to ensure the business operates optimally to best practice on the topic of data privacy.

· Coordinate the planning and implementation of a GDPR/data privacy compliance strategy across the UK group companies;

· Collaborate with the Group's data privacy team to steer privacy compliance:

· Maintenance of UK Group companies' data protection registrations with the relevant supervisory authority.

· Inform and advise the companies (and their respective processors and employees) of their obligations pursuant to GDPR and other relevant data privacy legislation;

· Perform data protection impact assessments, manage Data Subject Access Requests received by the UK group companies.

· Coordinate, plan and implement data privacy communications and training to all relevant individuals

· Maintenance of the UK Record of Processing;

· Management of the data privacy topic within the company's Internal Control System, including the creation, implementation review and maintenance of controls and monitoring

Profile

This Data Privacy Specialist role is based in Reading and requires:

· Data privacy compliance experience

Hands on operational data protection experience, practical experience of applying GDPR

· Automotive or retail experience

· Audit experience

· Good understanding of risk management and reporting, effectiveness testing procedures and techniques, internal controls and control based auditing

· Previous project management support and co-ordination experience.

· Excellent organizational ability, with demonstrable systems, tools & techniques in place to support this.
