We have a rare inhouse opportunity for an EL/PL Fee Earner/Solicitor to join a thriving insurance team based in Leeds.
This insurance firm have a growing team of Litigators, taking care of Road Traffic Accidents, Employer Liability and Public Liability cases.

As the team takes on more responsibilities, it means they now have an exciting opportunity for a Personal Injury Litigator/ Solicitor to join our team, on full-time and permanent basis.

Please note: This is a predominantly home based role with occasional travel to your local office based in Leeds, when it is safe to do so.

The Role:

You will handle a caseload of Claimant Employers Liability claims, Public Liability claims and unusual Road traffic Accidents such as Pedestrian or Cyclist claims and represent the company in providing legal advice and assistance.

What you'll be doing:

Negotiating settlement on the best possible terms for the client ensuring that instructions are followed or taken at necessary points and ensuring the legal expenses' provider is kept updated throughout the decision process

Drafting vital documentation to issue court proceedings, staying in sync with court directions and ready the file for a final court hearing. You will also collaborate closely with counsel and deal with any vital costs statements

You will be managing cases efficiently and effectively whilst ensuring that client work is progressed efficiently to manage departmental targets and Service Level Agreements and the client is proactively kept advised where appropriate.

Ensuring good working relationships with the direct team, management, as well as external suppliers and organisations

What we are looking for:

Experience in dealing with litigated EL/PL and RTA claims in fast track matters is crucial

Able to work with the wider team and less experienced individuals in technical/complex matters

Able to work well under pressure with high attention to detail

Ability to communicate effectively with clients by telephone or written communication

Knowledge of the Pre Action Protocol, the Court Procedure Rules (CPR) and Practice Directions as well as awareness of the Fatal Accidents Act, other statutes and changes in the law.
